ACAF - Information Technology
Students explore the use of computer-based information systems in management and accounting. Students examine information technology’s impact on organizational decision-making and competitive advantage in the context of the cultural and ethical issues facing managers. Information technology fundamentals are explored (networking and communications; database management systems; data warehousing; systems development life cycle) as well as security, control frameworks, and auditing computer based systems. Through a combination of interactive lectures, in class case analysis and group discussion together with the use of MS Access, MS Visio, and MS Project students explore the above topics.
