 Reducing File Size

Maximum File Upload Size

There is a maximum file upload size of 125 MB. There are many ways to keep your file sizes

small. This also decreases download time and storage space for learners. The following are tips

for decreasing the size of file prior to uploading to the file manager.

 

PowerPoint Files

·          Split large PowerPoint files into 2 smaller files

·          Remove large graphics from PowerPoint prior to posting

·          Post a PDF version of PPT file – handout format

·          Post an outline version of a PowerPoint file

·          Reduce graphic sizes in a graphics program prior to adding to PowerPoint

·          If graphic resized in PowerPoint click on Picture Tools > Format > Compress picture

 

PDF Files

·          Use the Document > Reduce File Size feature to decrease size of a PDF document

 

Word Files

·          Save large Word files as PDF and reduce file size

·          Textbook Publisher Files, e.g. large audio and/or video files
