Graphics

·  Graphics could be simple or three-dimensional (3D). Simple graphics take the form of line drawings and cartoon-type figures which use solid colours. Graphics should be saved as JPG (ideal for photos or where colors blend) GIF (ideal for simple graphics of solid colors) or PNG (good for either). Only use other formats if you are sure the students will have viewers that support them. Never use BMP format, which is uncompressed, and cannot be easily viewed on Macs. Also most browsers can’t display BMP files.
·  Three-dimensional graphics could be either static or dynamic. Use static 3Ds to give a realistic, full-bodied view of an object. Dynamic 3D graphics, on the other hand, are used to support virtual reality worlds on the Web in which viewers can choose the perspective from which to view an object. Prepare instructions for your students on how they can acquire and install viewers. Remember, if there is a cost involved with such a viewer, it must be specified as a required resource on the course outline.
